Welcome to the online home of the Hash House Harriers in Canada. The Hash House Harriers have nothing whatsoever to do with illegal drugs. The name "Hash House" comes from the bad food served by the Royal Sengalor Club, the home of the Harrier's first chapter. The "mother hash" was born in 1938, in Kuala Lumpur. Since then, the Hash House Harriers have grown to become the world's largest running organization. There are now thousands of clubs and there is at least one "hash" in every major city on the planet.

A hash run is based on the old English game of paper chase. One harrier (the hare) lays a trail of flour over a course. The other harriers (the hounds) try to follow that trail to the end, where they enjoy munchies and beer (or soft drinks). The typical hash is 3-5 miles over hill and dale, through suburbs, woods, shopping malls, etc. The hash isn't a race, there are no prizes to the swift. Following the trail is the challenge, camaraderie and beverages are the rewards.
